The Danish Data Archive
- is a free national service for social
science, health science and history
- has a holding of data and
documentation from more than 2500 studies
dating from the 1960s and onwards

preserves and disseminates data
machine-readable data, created systematicaly by
using questionnaires or interviews, which can
be documented for secondary analysis

is a part of the Danish State Archives. All
archiving and dissemination of data
materials are free of charge

has contributed to the EU - projects Nesstar,
Faster, Metadater and Madiera
-
has researchers and
students from primarily Danish research
institutes and universities as its target group
Our objectives are:
- to identify and archive research data from
the social science and health science
communities
- to document research data
in accordance with archival rules and international standards

to disseminate research data for secondary
analysis
- to preserve data for future generations

to publish documentation through the
archive's databases
- to inform of the possibilities for
re-analysis of the data materials

to give advice on data documentation
We promote:
- the archiving of data from institutes from
fields of the social science, health science
and history
- the use of our networks where
researchers from the social science and health science
communities are participating
- the publication of identified data collections
- the use of our question database

analyses of the questionnaire method

the archiving of qualitative data
materials
- the development of teaching resources and
examples for students
- the analyses of historical censuses
