DDI Editing Framework


 

DDIEditor is a DDI-Lifecycle Editing Framework developed by DDA - Danish Data Archive.

 

The DDIEditor is the key tool in a framework of data processing tools and processes related to data processing of survey datasets. The end product is data documentation in accordance with international metadata standard of the collection of surveys.

The DDIEditor produces metadata documentation in DDI-Lifecycle.

A key objective for development of the DdiEditor is to provide users with a tool that is
- configurable
- extendable
- customisable

 

At the moment the DDIEditor is aimed at data processing for curation purposes (accommodating the requirements for a data archive). However, the development project plans to move forward in the direction of providing functionality for the whole data lifecycle.
This means that future user groups will range from researchers carrying out a survey to re-users of data supplying additional meta data to the original study.

Future developments

The editor framework is under development and the lib-java, ddi-3-xmlbeans and util modules are beta releases.
In the near future the modules:
  • ddieditor
  • ddieditor-ui
Will be released together with a project infrastructure of:
  • Wiki and documentation
  • Access to source control revision system
  • Bugtracking system
